I like knives, you probably do too, or you wouldn't be reading this. Everyone needs a few knives, knives for the kitchen, a pocket knife for the small jobs that come up every day, a hunting knife, maybe a defensive knife. We could probably get by with $100.00 worth of knives and get everything done that needs to be done. We are not going to do this, we like knives. Our knives have filled drawers, cabinets, safes, piling up like autumn leaves, but it's ok, we like knives. We like thinking about them, looking at them, and we are always looking for something that needs cutting.
For me, this started as a small child in the 1950s watching Scott Forbes in the Adventures of Jim Bowie foil the bad guys. Forbes did not fight with his knife, but threw it! And boy did he throw that knife, making it stick wherever and whenever he wanted, but never in the bad guy. The bad guy would see what a good knife thrower he was and give up! I wanted to be Jim Bowie. A tree in my back yard was my target, and I don't know how many forty-nine cent Woolworth pocket knives I broke before I got the idea.
